One of these activities is teaching woodworking classes.  This is a great way for you to share your experience to people with the same passion as yours.  You have to decide upon certain aspects of teaching woodworking classes, like what type of class will you teach, what is your niche.  You can teach the classes at your house if you have enough space, but you can also ask around if the community college or community centre is available.  The students are not hard to find: advertising the classes on the local store or including the course in the college catalogue with an inciting description (if you are working through a community college) are methods that work very well.  The last aspects you have to decide on are the levels of the woodworking classes (are they for beginners, intermediate or advanced woodworkers) and what does the competition offer.  You can find out how interesting are the woodworking classes provided by the competitors by signing up for one of them.  Observe the things they have to offer and try to make your woodworking classes more exciting and improved.

   Writing for woodworking magazines can give you the chance to express yourself and present fresh ideas and new projects for the readers.  If you want to write for a magazine, you have to send a query letter to the editor of the magazine with your ideas and designs for the article, and a photo of the final product.  The editor will read it and if it considers that it is an interesting article, he will contact you and set the price.  Usually, it is the average price paid to the authors, but do some researches before you agree any fees.

   Woodworkers can perform demonstrations only if they attend a certified demonstration training program, offered by Craft & Hobby Association.  Once they have successfully completed the program, their names will be available for all the consumers, trade groups or manufacturers, who can choose them to demonstrate their product.

   Having an excess of supplies is something good if you are searching for some extra cash.  Especially if you have bought them on wholesales, you can obtain a good profit by reselling them on EBay to other woodworkers.

   Therefore, if your sales are not as high as in other periods of the year, you can always do additional activities without leaving the woodworking area, and the advantage is that you gain experience and extra money.
