  • Circular Saw – a good replacement for many of the woodworker’s tools, if the worker really knows how to use it. It can be a little uncomfortable at first, but in a short time it will become indispensable.

  • Power Drills can be found as corded drills or cordless drills. While the last one is very convenient, the corded drill is a better option because it has supplementary advantages, such as variable speed, versatility and various drilling tasks. The best choice for a beginner might be the 3/8 inch corded power drill.

  • The Random Orbital Sander is recommended instead of the palm sanders, even if those are cheaper, because it sands in a random motion the stock. Therefore, no sanding marks will spoil your stock. Buy a supply of sanding disks too, according to the model you have chosen; you never know when you are out of it.

  • The Jigsaw allows the woodworker to cut circular patterns in stock. The ones with orbital action are easy to handle and their blades’ changing system is not complicated.

  • The Compound Miter Saw can be used to cut compound angles on the ends of the stock.

  • Routers can be with two different bases: a stationary one and a plunge router base. The stationary router is more useful and it can be mounted in a router table. The ideal model would be one with 2-HP with variable speed.

  • The Table Saw is a tool for the experienced woodworkers, and if you decide to buy one, make sure that you have chosen the best one. It can make a real difference, but keep in mind when you are going to buy one which is the features you need and the type of table saw suits best your woodworking needs.
